Full Cycle Accountant & Office Administrator
Our client, a large-scale commercial plumbing business in Headingly, Manitoba is hiring! We are looking for a Full Cycle Accountant & Office Administrator, a key position in the organization, to join the team. Reporting directly to the President, this unique role of approximately 70% accounting and 30% office administration will be a great opportunity for someone with these multiple skillsets looking for a fun and casual environment!
Responsibilities
Accounting
- Management of the invoicing process, including large project invoicing
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Payroll administration:
- Collect and verify payroll information
- Tax and benefits remittances
- Process payroll through QuickBooks
- EFT processing and reconciliation
- Process ROEs
- Tax remittances
- Source deductions
- GST and PST
- Corporate tax instalments
- Preparation of financial documents to support the year-end review performed by the external accounting firm
- Quarterly payments, annual reconciliation and estimates for WCB
- Quarterly remittance for WSIB
- Bank and credit card reconciliation
- Responsible for monthly financial reporting to the President
- Identify accounting errors and corrections
- General data entry
- Responsible for the entire accounting function
Office Management
- Human Resources duties:
- Prepare and conduct new hire orientations including safety and WHMIS training
- Manage, distribute and track employee equipment and property
- Benefits administration
- Track vacation time for employees
- Maintain accurate and organized employee files
- Assist in the creation and updating of company policies and procedures as needed
- COR Safety management
- Administer safety program
- Facilitate annual safety audit
- Assist the Project Management Team with the creation and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets used in the bidding, quoting and management of new and ongoing projects
- Creation of O&M Manuals for projects nearing completion
- Track and maintain reporting for vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Assist with annual insurance renewals and maintenance of the vehicle insurance policies
- Assist management in the administration of the Apprenticeship Program
- Onsite contact and coordinator for IT issues and inquiries
- General office administration including answering phones, photocopying and binding documents, receiving and sending mail, etc.
- Management of office supplies and inventory
Core Skill & Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
- Previous experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset
- Excellent mathematical and financial skills
- Exceptional priority-setting, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in computer software programs.
- Technological competence: experience working with office equipment
- A driver’s licence and vehicle are required; this role will be onsite in Headingly, MB
