The Province of Manitoba is re-launching the Canada-Manitoba Job Grant program.
The Canada-Manitoba Job Grant provides funding to employers to help cover training costs of new and
existing employees to meet business needs, and help Manitobans gain the skills they need to fill
available jobs.
All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis until funding is fully expensed. Intake
for the program will open SEPTEMBER 6, 2022.
Businesses are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 per employee, with an overall maximum of $100,000.


Program Details:
Eligibility:
a. Eligible employers
       • Private employers and non-profit organizations.
b. Non-eligible employers
       • Prior recipients of three Job Grants over the past five years;
       • Current recipient of funding from Manitoba under another Industry Workforce Development program such as the Industry Expansion Program or the Workforce Development Program; and
       • K-12 schools and post-secondary institutions funded by provincial/federal sources
c. Non-eligible employees
       • Individuals with a social insurance number that begins with “9” and temporary foreign workers;
       • Individuals hired on contract (i.e. non-employees); and
       • Employees of a Manitoba company who reside and work in a different province or country.
Funding:
       • Companies with 100 employees or less can apply for up to 75% of costs.
       • Companies with 101 employees or more can apply for up to 50% of costs.
       • Training costs eligible for funding include:
A. Tuition and mandatory student fees or fees charged by a training provider;
B. Textbooks, software and other required materials;
C. Examination fees; and
D. Travel costs where training is unavailable in-person or virtually in remote
communities.
Required Information:
       • Payments are made once all training has been completed and reporting requirements are met.
       • Employers are required to report on their actual training costs and MUST submit the following:
A. Training Plan Report;
B. Training Evaluation; and
C. Proof of Payment of Eligible Training Costs.
