Our client, a reputable contracting company based in Kenora, Ontario, specializing in road building, sewer and water infrastructure, and heavy civil construction, is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to enhance their dynamic team. With a newly expanded portfolio of construction projects, the Project Manager will take charge of crucial tasks such as scheduling, estimating, site documentation, and tracking and reporting for all projects.
In this pivotal role, the Project Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager, contributing significantly to the establishment of project benchmarks and ensuring the successful achievement of deliverables. Professional Skills
- Provide broad support to the project team, including coordinating, overseeing, and documenting daily operations for multiple projects;
- Oversee all phases of project implementation including:
- Project estimating;
- Project planning and coordination;
- Construction management;
- Contract administration.
- Monitor project stages to ensure compliance with provincial government regulations, laws, specifications and procedures;
- Manage performance of projects and provide status updates on work-in-progress, cost control, safety, risk, QA/QC, and schedule;
- Monitor tender sites for projects, review tender documents and assist in preparing bid packages;
- Prepare communication documents for clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders;
- Produce as-built drawings for civil infrastructure in AutoCad Civil 3D;
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience with Heavy civil construction estimating, contracting, budgets, scheduling, and QA/QC;
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management or a Construction Engineering degree (P.Eng., C.E.T.) would be an asset;
- Innovative, analytical, and critical decision-making skills with a strong ability to problem solve while adapting to changing priorities;
- Superior organizational skills and follow-up to successfully take ownership and manage heavy workloads in a challenging work environment;
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency;
- Must be able and willing to travel to multiple job sites across Northwestern Ontario, occasionally overnight;
- Ability to prioritize workloads, understanding the seasonality and occasional times when longer hours are needed to meet project deadlines;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software considered an asset;
- Experience working on project construction site(s) or in an office setting;
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- The ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
