Joel MacGillivray is a dedicated Senior Accountant with a passion for serving local, owner-managed businesses. After graduating from the Asper School of Business with a double major in Accounting and Supply Chain & Logistics, Joel began his career at a large audit firm in Winnipeg, gaining valuable experience while pursuing his CPA designation. He recently passed the CPA Canada Common Final Exam and is on track to earning his CPA.

Since joining F.H. Black & Company CPA Inc., Joel has introduced new technologies to the accounting team, improving efficiency and enhancing client service—something he takes great pride in. Known for his persistence and drive to improve processes, Joel continually strives to deliver the best results for clients.

Outside of work, Joel enjoys golf, fishing, hockey, and woodworking. He recently combined his passions by building a golf simulator in his garage to make golf a year-round hobby. Joel’s love for hockey runs deep, with family ties to the sport’s history, and he continues to lace up for weekly rec skates.

A strong advocate for mental health, Joel proudly supports the Canadian Mental Health Association, reflecting his commitment to overall well-being.
