Our Client, a successful Winnipeg-based construction company is looking for a full time, internal Flooring Sales Associate to join their team.  They are eager to hire a friendly, outgoing, and dynamic professional with extensive knowledge of flooring to provide high-level customer service to their clients.

* Previous flooring or construction material sales is a positional requirement *


  • Providing customers with recommendations in flooring selections that best fit their project
  • Providing detailed information on flooring application, removal, and trim options
  • Providing detailed information on flooring features & benefits as well as limitations
  • Executing the sale with responsibility for the full sales cycle, including:
  • Product recommendations;
  • Preparation of quotation with consideration for strategic pricing;
  • Closing the sale;
  • Transaction confirmed by way of deposit and final payment arrangements secured;
  • Creation of a timeline for installation with consideration for order lead time, organizing the installation, ensuring project timelines are met and installation is executed fully and accurately.
  • Ensuring the project is completed to the satisfaction of the customer and the Company;
  • Full payment received and job completed and closed;
  • Meeting and exceeding annual sales goals as established by the Company;
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with customers
  • Maintenance of internal flooring products in store
  • Assisting other sales associates with product information and team collaboration
  • Other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a retail flooring environment, ideally in a sales role
  • Demonstrated track record in sales of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • New business development experience, comfortable with prospecting and cold calling
  • Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (outside hours as needed)
  • Experience working in the construction industry would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Bistrack system also considered an asset


  • Ability to project manage and multi-task several projects at one time
  • Knowledge with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated
  • Extensive knowledge in flooring with ambition for continuous learning
  • Proficient in taking and reading measurements
  • Driven, entrepreneurial sales professional with exemplary customer service skills
