Job description

As a Year End Senior Accountant you will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Accounting Management team. You will provide support through a variety of tasks related to year end and income tax preparation. You will communicate via phone and email with clients, and at times provide onsite support ensuring that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • NTR, Review and Audit engagement preparation and management
  • Corporate and personal tax preparation
  • Day-to-day and month-end accounting processes
  • Recording asset, liability, and capital account entries by analyzing account information and support.
  • Reconciling financial balances by collecting and analyzing account information, examining statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Preparing balance sheet, cash flow statement, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Recommending and substantiating financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Reviewing, understanding and making recommendations to clients on accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintaining financial security and client confidence by following internal controls.
  • Maintaining file organization, staying on track in order to complete client filing deadlines.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through attendance at update courses and education workshops.
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results, such as adhering to all deadlines as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional Accountant, CPA with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Public accounting experience required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage Accounting software.
  • Action-oriented, results driven with the ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent mathematical and financial skills, with experience in excel.
  • Exceptional priority setting, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several responsibilities at once.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Confident, reliable and capable of working independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting management systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in accounting standards and financial reporting requirements under ASPE/ASPE NPO
  • The ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
