Human Resources Assistant     |     Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Assistant to provide support to our busy and growing team, with 1-3 years’ relevant work experience. This HR Assistant will interact and consult with clients and their business counterparts on a frequent basis via phone and email.  This individual will also provide onsite client support from time to time, ensuring that all duties are completed accurately, delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

Job Duties

  • Preparation of engagement letters, employment agreements, HR documents, forms and presentations.
  • Maintain calendars of HR team
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, events and maintain agendas
  • Active involvement in the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Management of HR projects including organizing internal HR file structure, creating HR templates and forms, employee satisfaction surveys, time analysis projects and more!
  • Maintaining file organization and client records, including highly confidential information.
  • Compliance with federal, provincial, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Contributing to HR team efforts and deadlines by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must thrive in a fast paced, high intensity environment.
  • Proven experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.)
  • High degree of computer competency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of all Canadian legislation relating to Human Resources (labour laws and disciplinary procedures)
  • Keen attention to detail, deadline-oriented, superior time management skills
  • Proficiency in client relations and strong communication skills (written & oral)
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude, with strong ethics and reliability
  • Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a CPHR designation
