Description Overview

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Graphic Designer is responsible for all aspects in the creation of the company’s promotional materials and design process, bringing marketing and branding ideas to life.

Working closely with the marketing team, the Graphic Designer will develop design solutions and graphics across a range of digital, video and print platforms, ensuring the correct branding message and initiatives are translated and communicated, capturing the attention of the target audience.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, develop and implement all print, digital, or video related marketing materials that support the brand and company strategies.
  • Create intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent material for use in digital content for websites, newsletters and other visuals that integrate with different web supporting platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet, etc.) as well as traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Design company logos, letterheads, brochures, presentations, promotional materials, and website elements.

· Prepare and present prototypes and designs for brand presentations.

· Work with the marketing team to deliver design materials such as infographics, sales materials, ad banners (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), social media images, videos, pitch decks, and other marketing design-related items.

  • Collaborate in conceptual development and design ideation to define creative strategy.
  • Research, identify and share current industry design trends and competitive reviews as they relate to the brand.
  • Use analytics and data to contribute to the development of content with high engagement rates and strong performance.
  • Identify and create engagement opportunities that will help grow the company audience and increase brand awareness.
  • Work with internal team members to achieve and develop the highest level of quality for each project – understanding limitations due to timing, costs, etc.
  • Work with internal and external team members to improve the user experience on our website or software applications.
  • Meet with internal and external team members to determine requirements and vision for design elements, which may include multiple strategy meetings and creating various versions of a similar product for approval.
  • Keep up to date with the latest design trends
  • Select fonts, colours, shapes, designs, styles, and layouts for projects.

Education & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design.

· 3-5+ years’ experience as a graphic designer, preferably with experience with a SaaS and/or agriculture company

· 2+ years’ experience in UI/UX design and web design

· Very strong typography skills

· A creative range that extends from web design to freestyle illustrations

· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and Xd.

· Experience with Figma considered an asset

· Experience with PowerPoint design, Google Slide design, or similar

· Proficient in vector illustration and image editing

· Experience in video editing preferred

· Proven oral and written communications skills with a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

· Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and can navigate a high growth, rapidly changing organization

· A positive forward-thinking mindset

· Knowledge in grain marketing or agriculture is considered an asset

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

· Canadian citizen/permanent resident or legally able to work in Canada

· Willing to travel and/or work at events outside of regular office hours when required
